ORcast
®   Surgical Teaching Video Links
Interactive teaching links for live surgical procedure tuition

ORTV® seminar rooms and lecture theatres use the latest in display technology, whether plasma/LCD screens or projection systems, to show live video images from the operating theatre.  The links can be direct or as part of a video teaching network of theatres and rooms using the ORcast® video distribution system.

The surgeons use broadcast quality microphones to discuss the case with the delegates or trainees who are free to ask questions during the procedure.

The ORTV® touch panel allows observers to select the image of interest, whether from endoscopy, overview camera, in-light camera, the x-rays, PAC's images, EPR, pathology or the patient monitoring.

Local connections exist for visitor laptops, host PCs, client servers for PACS.  Naturally, when off-line, the ORTV® seminar room may be used for conventional meetings or lectures.

ORcast® is a unique system that connects multiple theatres to multiple seminar rooms across a trust WAN or LAN. Connections are made either in the operating theatre, from the seminar room, or via a central control room.
